How Are We Doing ...

gracerace_img.jpg Grace Race Fund
The orphanage and school building construction is done, thanks to your support!
The orphanage and school building construction is done, and the One27 Academy is now open as of January 2013, thanks to your generous support. We still need your assistance. Please help us raise $5K by July 1st 2017 to fund construction of a new kitchen at the Academy to feed a growing student population. Every dollar counts! We appreciate your partnership and support!

The Race

It’s Official
The Grace Race is an official USATF certified 5 mile run (walk) as well as a fundraising event to raise funds that will go to the construction and staffing of an orphanage in Naivasha, Kenya to benefit children whose parents have died from AIDS and other diseases.

Our Next Race

After holding 11 annual Grace Race road races, we decided in 2015 to take a break from hosting our own road race. We are instead sending team of runners and walkers to other community events to raise money for the kids in Kenya! Please see our Mission page for more details. Please see home page www.gracerace.org for updates and news about other possible fund-raisers in the coming months.

To participate in the race runners should do the following:

  1. Review the race route map located on UMapper (you will be redirected to the UMapper site). A video of the course is also available, thanks to ViewTheRace.com
  2. Register for the race online (or print out and mail in registration & pledge sheet card with check – see right sidebar)
  3. Print Runner/Walker Pledge Sheet or create your Personal Fundraising following the steps found in this link.
We ask all runners and walkers to sign-up family and friends to pledge a specific amount per mile run or for the entire run as a way for our runners to participate in our fund raising effort. The pledge sheet or the online fundraising, is not required in order to participate in the run or walk but we strongly encourage you help us in our support of the Naivasha orphans.
  4. Race-day registration and packet pick-up begins at 8:30 AM on race day. Please arrive early!
  5. Indicate your running team/club affiliation if you are also participating in the team competition
  6. Note to all participants: Please use the parking lot at Kronos Inc. 297 Billerica Rd., a block away from Grace Community Church.

Team Competition
This year, the Grace Race will be featuring a team competition between local and regional running clubs and organizations.  Each team member should register for the Grace Race as an individual and indicate at the bottom of the registration page/form, their team affiliation.  All team registrants are eligible for the individual awards.  Also, feel free to contact Charles Brunet at teambrunet@gmail.com once you register or for more information.  Please see our team rules and regulations.

Winner’s Purse: Open and Master’s
Starting with the 2008 Grace Race we will be offering an $800 purse that will be split between the men’s and women”s first and second place winners. Our goal in introducing a winner’s purse is to increase awareness and participation of runners which will, in turn, help our fund raising efforts. That works out to $250/each for the men’s and women’s first place finishers and $150/each for the second place men’s and women’s finishers.

1st place male/female finishers in Master’s division (age 40 and over) receive prize of $250.
